Bunka v biológii je štrukturálna a funkcionálna jednotka všetkých známych živých organizmov. Je to najjednoduchšia jednotka organizmu, ktorá je klasifikovaná ako žijúca a niekedy sa volá "stavebný blok života". Niektoré organizmy ako baktérie sú unicelárne (jednobunkové). Iné organizmy ako sú ľudia sú multicelulárne. (Ľudia majú asi 100 biliónov alebo 1014 buniek; typická veľkosť buniek je 10 mikrometrov; typická hmotnosť bunky je 1 nanogram.) Najväčšia známa ľudská bunka je vajíčko - asi 0,5 mm.
